What can be helped?

Why might you decide to book a treatment?

  • An unexplained drop in performance
  • Uneven muscle development
  • Back pain due to saddle fit
  • Asymmetry manifesting as weakness on 1 rein
  • Gait abnormalities
  • Uneven wear of shoes
  • Resistance to mounting
  • Moving away from tack, or a handler
  • A sudden change in behaviours such as bucking, rearing, refusing fences, incorrect canter strike off or inability to maintain canter
  • Rehabilitation following veterinary treatment for impinging spinous processes (kissing spines)
  • With veterinary referral for referral pain due to; arthritis, sacroiliac disease, gastric ulcers and a range of other conditions which can be discussed with your vet.

Of course, it is always preferable to see a horse for a routine treatment, given as a preventative measure. However sometimes there may have been a trauma or underlying issue leading to a problem to develop.

A maintenance treatment may be given as a standalone treatment booked by the owner. Please note, that if a horse is lame or has been seen by a vet for a specific condition, all therapists are required to treat the horse on veterinary referral. This allows us to work as a team and ensure that the horse's needs are being met.
